Obama phone call to gay couple: 'Have a great celebration'

The US Supreme Court has overturned a federal law that defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman only.

The decision means that legally-married gay men and women are entitled to claim the same federal benefits available to opposite-sex married couples.

Chris Perry and her partner Sandy Steer shared their celebrations with US President Barack Obama when he made a call to gay rights campaigner Chad Griffin.
