Obituary: Veteran US TV presenter Dick Clark

One of America's best-known veteran television personalities, Dick Clark, has died of a heart attack. He was 82.

Clark was the host of American Bandstand, a rock'n'roll variety show that ran for three decades, as well as Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve. He made his 40th appearance on the show on 31 December 2011.

Known as the "world's oldest teenager", Clark was also a major producer of television and awards shows.
