Iraq war veteran wins Dancing with the Stars

Iraq war veteran JR Martinez has won the 13th series of US show Dancing With The Stars.

The 28-year-old, who appeared on soap opera All My Children, beat reality star Rob Kardashian to scoop the trophy with dance partner Karina Smirnoff.

Although Kardashian beat Martinez by 113 points to 112 in the judges' vote, the viewers secured Martinez the glitterball trophy.

Talk show host Ricki Lake finished in third place.
