US super committee fails to seal debt deal

A US congressional committee set up to find a way to reduce the government's $15tn debt has failed to reach an agreement.

President Obama accused Republican members of "failing to compromise", while the Republicans said Democrats were not serious about reducing welfare spending.

Adam Brookes reports from Washington.
