US heatwave in New York 'like sitting in a sauna'

Dangerous levels of heat and humidity have caused a deadly heatwave which is spreading over central and eastern parts of the US.

Some areas have seen temperatures as high as 37C (99F) and up to 22 deaths have so far been reported.

New Yorkers have been tackling the heat by cooling down in fountains and with fire hydrants.
