Obama to hear council's ideas for boosting job creation
President Obama is to receive his first progress report from a council of business chiefs asked to suggest quick steps to boost employment.
The panel, led by General Electric's Jeffrey Immelt, delivers its suggestions after the US jobless rate rose above 9%.
One proposal is that the private sector partners with community colleges, to ensure training matches skill gaps in the economy.
