Netanyahu: Israel's border will be different to 1967

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has told the US Congress that he is "serious" about peace with the Palestinians, but "Israel will not return to the indefensible boundaries of 1967".

About 500,000 Israelis live in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem, areas that lie behind Israel's pre-1967 borders.

His remarks came four days after he opened a rift with US President Barack Obama over the direction of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
