Obama tells US to 'pull together to cut deficit'

The economy dominated last night's State of the Union speech by President Obama.

He told Americans they had to pull together to cut the deficit and compete against emerging competitors such as India and China.

He said it was a competition America would win only by 'out-innovating, out-educating and out-building the rest of the world'.

Steve Kingstone reports from Washington.
