Pentagon report backs repeal of 'don't ask, don't tell'

A Pentagon report has concluded the ban on openly gay people in the US military could be lifted, even in time of war, without harming military readiness.

Defence Secretary Robert Gates has now urged a deeply divided Congress to repeal the policy of don't ask, don't tell, saying most soldiers support the move.
