Cruise ship boss admit 'ruining' passengers' vacations

Carnival Cruise Lines boss Gerry Cahill has said he is ''disappointed'' about ''ruining'' the vacations of 4,500 passengers stranded off the Mexican coast by an engine-room fire on board the company's Splendor cruise ship.

The vessel is being pulled by two tugboats and followed by three others.

It is expected to arrive in the US city of San Diego by midday on Thursday.
