President Obama: 'New Orleans is blossoming'

President Obama has spoken at an event marking the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

The storm killed more than 1,800 people and displaced hundreds of thousands, some of whom have still not returned.

Sombre ceremonies marking the anniversary will include the tolling of bells at St Louis Cathedral.

Mr Obama said that the city "is blossoming again".
