Violence reported at Afghan polling stations

People in Afghanistan are voting in key parliamentary elections amid threats from the Taliban, who have vowed to disrupt the vote.

Six security force members were killed in a Taliban attack in the north, and at least five people were killed in other attacks across the country.

Afghan police have urged people to call their emergency number, 119, for any problems with security or fraud.

Lyse Doucet was able to gain access to their operations centre in the heart of the Afghan interior ministry and found that phones were ringing off the hook.
