Saudi Arabia rejects Yemen war accusation

Saudi Arabia has rejected accusations that the multinational coalition it heads is to blame for most of the estimated 10,000 deaths in Yemen's conflict so far.

Its chief military spokesman, Maj Gen Ahmed Al-Assiri, told the BBC’s Frank Gardner that Iran-backed Houthi rebels had "hijacked" the country of 26 million people and that Saudi Arabia and its allies had intervened militarily at the request of the legitimate Yemeni government.
