Syrians return to areas freed from Islamic State control

Syrian civilians have begun returning to towns captured from the Islamic State group by Russian-backed government forces.

Palmyra and al-Qaryatain, both in the province of Homs, have been retaken.

The head of the Syrian Orthodox Church said 21 Christians had been executed by IS.
