Blair: 'Boots on ground' needed to defeat IS militants

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has told the BBC that it may be necessary to use "force capability on the ground" to defeat IS militants.

Referring to Barack Obama's airstrike policy he said that the "fanatical force" could only be "harried and hemmed in by airpower".

He also said it would be best if the ground troops came from nations in the Middle East.

Mr. Blair was speaking to the BBC's Nick Bryant.
