Mortar fire breaches Homs truce, delaying UN aid convoy

The Syrian government and rebels have accused each other of violating a ceasefire in the besieged city of Homs, where the UN is hoping to deliver aid.

Dozens of vulnerable people were evacuated from rebel-held areas of the city on Friday, after the UN brokered the ceasefire between the government and rebel leaders on humanitarian grounds.

The UN is due to deliver food and medical supplies to some 3,000 civilians still trapped by fighting there.
