Egypt expels Turkey ambassador

Egypt has ordered the Turkish ambassador to leave the country and announced a downgrading of diplomatic ties.

The move is in protest at Turkey's support for the ousted Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi.

Turkey has downgraded its diplomatic relations with Cairo in response.
