Syria chemical weapons destruction begins

The destruction of Syria's chemical weapons has begun, with international experts overseeing the operation which could take up to nine months.

Syria agreed to dispose of its arsenal following international condemnation of a chemical weapons attack near Damascus in August.

The BBC's Paul Wood reports from the UN in New York.
