Syrian government shelling of Damascus continues

There has been more government shelling in Damascus, even as a UN inspection team concludes its investigation into last week's alleged chemical weapons attack.

Germany has joined Britain in ruling out a role in any military response to the attack, which killed hundreds and wounded many more.

The US and France are still open to military action, with French President Hollande saying airstrikes could happen by next Wednesday.
