Yemen terror warning: 'Something could be coming soon'
The US state department has told citizens and non-emergency government staff to leave Yemen "immediately" due to security threats.
It comes after the sudden closure of 20 US embassies and consulates on Sunday.
Reports from America suggest that the US government's decision to close nineteen diplomatic missions around the world was based on intercepted conversations between senior members of Al-Qaeda.
Adam Baron, a freelance journalist in Sanaa, described the mood in the city: "This morning a manned intelligence aircraft circled around Sanaa for roughly two to three hours. It caused a state of alarm and panic amongst residents because it's something that just doesn't really happen."
"This is a threat that's always present... But due to these intercepted communications, there's this belief that something could be coming soon."
