Mansour: 'I salute the revolutionary people of Egypt'

The top judge of Egypt's Constitutional Court, Adly Mansour, has been sworn in as interim leader, hours after the army ousted President Mohammed Morsi and put him under house arrest.

Mr Mansour said it was with great pride and gratitude that he received the order to take up the position during the transitional period.

He went on to praise the country's youth and the armed forces that he said had been "the conscience of the nation and the guarantor of its security".
