UN monitors 'cannot police truce in Syria'

Violence has continued in Syria despite a plan by international envoy Kofi Annan calling on Damascus to withdraw troops and heavy weapons from cities.

Michael Peel of London's Financial Times accompanied UN monitors in Zabadani and Douma on Monday.

He told the BBC that the monitors were not in a position to effectively police any kind of truce.
