The cost of a divorce in Iran? Your weight in gold
In Iran, traditional couples looking to get married sometimes work out a dowry agreement where the wife receives gold coins equal to her weight should the marriage end in divorce.
And with a 5.5% rise in divorces in just six months last year, thousands of Iranian men who are unable to pay are ending up in prison.
