Suleiman: 'We will never attack protesters'
As tens of thousands of Egyptians took part in a "day of departure" to try to oust President Hosni Mubarak, the country's vice president vowed not to use force against the protesters.
Vice President Omar Suleiman told ABC News: "We will not use any violence against them, but we will ask them to go home."
Vice President Suleiman was asked whether the government would "never" use force to disperse protesters from Cairo's Tahrir Square.
He replied: "No way. No way."
There is an increased army presence in Tahrir Square after unrest that has led to hundreds of casualties.
