Cairo airport full as tourists flee Egypt

Many countries are evacuating citizens, causing near-chaos at Cairo airport as air traffic becomes congested and flights are cancelled or delayed.

Tourism remains a vital sector in the Egyptian economy, accounting for about 5-6% of GDP.

The BBC's Jon Leyne, reporting from Cairo airport, says his flight from the UK was almost empty but there are thousands of people trying to leave.
