Three reported dead after Egypt's 'day of revolt'

At least three people have been killed during a day of rare anti-government protests in Egypt, reports say.

Thousands joined the demonstrations after an internet campaign inspired by the uprising in Tunisia.

In the capital, Cairo the protesters hurled rocks at the police who fired tear gas in response.

From there Jon Leyne reports.
