The Rio band learning on donated instruments

Musician Tom Ashe has been telling the BBC's Babita Sharma why he felt inspired to move from the UK to one of the favelas in Rio in Brazil, and teach children there to play music.

Favelas comprise basic housing that rises up into the mountains of the Olympic city. Tom has started a music school in the Pereirao community in Rio, a favela of about 3,000 people.
