Petrol price hike in Venezuela by over 6,000%

For almost 20 years petrol in Venezuela has cost virtually nothing. It had been almost free for people living in the oil-rich country. Now prices are suddenly going up and quite substantially.

A litre of premium petrol was costing just one US cent but today the price shot up to almost $1 (£0.69) per litre.
