Mexico's Colima volcano erupts

Mexico's Colima volcano erupted on Wednesday, sending a column of ash and vapour two kilometres (1.2 miles) into the air.

Some volcanic ash fell nearby and forced flights at the local airport to be temporarily suspended.

Colima, also known as the "fire volcano", is located approximately 690 kilometres (428 miles) west of Mexico City.
