Chile marks 40th anniversary of General Pinochet's coup

On Wednesday it will be 40 years since Chilean Air Force jets bombed the presidential palace in Santiago, in a military coup led by General Augusto Pinochet.

Under the dictatorship more than 3,000 political opponents were killed, while thousands more were tortured or disappeared.
