How solar power is changing lives in the Ecuadorian Amazon

For the indigenous communities that live in the Ecuadorian Amazon, the geographical remoteness of the area prevents them from having access to grid electrification.

That's why a regional power company, together with the Ecuadorian government and an indigenous organisation started a project in 2009 to bring electricity to the region through the installation of solar panels.

Rosario Gabino reports.
