Venezuela plane crash kills 14

At least 14 people have been killed and 33 injured after a plane crashed in eastern Venezuela, officials have said.

The ATR-42 turboprop, belonging to the state airline Conviasa, came down shortly after leaving Manuel Carlos Piar airport, outside Ciudad Guayana.

The pilots of the aircraft, en route to the island of Margarita, reported technical problems before it crashed.

The survivors are being treated in hospital.
