Russia election: Festive mood at Moscow polling station

Russians are heading to the polls to vote in parliamentary elections.

The assembly - or Duma - is currently dominated by the United Russia Party, led by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Residents in Crimea are eligible to vote for the first time since Russia annexed the peninsula two years ago.
