Belgium prison strike 'disastrous'

A strike in Belgium's prison system has been condemned by some of the country's leading lawyers as "disastrous".

Belgium's prisons have long been infamous for poor conditions and overcrowding and the strike, in Francophone jails, shows no signs of being resolved.

Judges and lawyers gathered outside the Palais de Justice in central Brussels to protest against the country's creaking justice system.
