Migrant crisis: Mediterranean crossings increase

Almost 19,000 migrants have reached Italy by sea in the three months to the end of March, nearly double the number for the same period last year.

Some 4,000 were rescued on Monday and Tuesday this week alone, and as the weather improves there is a fear that the numbers will only increase.

Richard Bilton reports.
