Letters reveal Pope John Paul II's 30-year friendship with woman

The BBC's Panorama programme has uncovered hundreds of letters that tell the story of the late Pope John Paul II's 30-year friendship with a married woman.

Until now, the letters to the Polish-born American philosopher Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka have been hidden away in the National Library of Poland.

There's no evidence that the Pope broke his vows of celibacy.

The BBC's religious affairs correspondent Caroline Wyatt reports.
