Spanish king appears with prince amid abdication plans

King Juan Carlos of Spain has announced his intention to abdicate, after nearly 40 years on the throne.

His son, Crown Prince Felipe, 45, will take over the throne.

The pair have appeared together at a military ceremony, for the first time since the decision was announced.

The BBC's Tom Burridge reports from Madrid.
