Arrests amid Turkey protests on Taksim anniversary

Turkish police have used tear gas to disperse demonstrators in Istanbul's Taksim Square on the first anniversary of last year's deadly protests there.

Some 25,000 police have been deployed in the city amid calls for nationwide rallies to mark the anniversary and a number of people have been arrested.
