Turkey protests: Police face firesworks and molotov cocktails

Protesters in Istanbul have lit bonfires in the streets and threw molotov cocktails and fireworks at police.

Security services responded with tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannon in an attempt to disperse the crowd.

The violence continues even though Prime Minister Erdogan has agreed to meet with leaders of some of the groups involved in the demonstrations.
