Whale calf 'helps' push its stranded mother to safety

Footage has emerged of a stranded whale setting itself free, apparently with the aid of its calf, off the coast of Queensland Australia.

The whale was stuck for about 40 minutes, and was nudged repeatedly by her calf, before finally being able to swim out to open water.

The footage was filmed by Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service.
