'Disappointing' Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting ends

The Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting has ended in Australia, with leaders unable to agree on a number of issues.

The outcome is bound to be seen by some as a disappointing one, and a missed opportunity to take a stand on human rights.

However, Austrialian Prime Minister Julia Gillard stated that the summit had achieved a new direction for a more "purposeful, relevant and valuable Commonwealth - one designed for the future".

Nicholas Witchell reports from Perth.
