Worried Chinese grow their own food

A string of food scandals in China has prompted many young professionals to try growing their own produce in co-operative farms.

According to state media, the number of consumer complaints over the issue of food safety has been rising.

They include the sale of melamine-tainted baby formula milk which killed at least six children, and the case of exploding melon crops, caused by the overuse of a growth accelerant.
