Malaysia rally broken up with tear gas and water cannon

Police in Malaysia have used tear gas and water cannon against thousands of people gathered for a protest calling for electoral reform.

Some 1,600 people were arrested as they assembled for the banned protest, while opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim was one of a small number of people injured during the crackdown.
