Thaksin Shinawatra's sister in Thailand PM bid

Controversial former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's younger sister, Yingluck, is standing to follow in her brother's footsteps.

All recent opinion polls suggest current Prime Minister Abhisit's Democrat Party is trailing behind Yingluck Shinawatra's Pheu Thai party.

Critics say the party is in effect controlled by Mr Thaksin and Mr Abhisit has warned the country may face renewed political instability if Mr Thaksin returns from exile.

Thais go to polls on 3 July.
