Inside the real 'Slumdog Millionaire' community

India is home to one third of the world's poorest people.

More than 550m people live there without access to toilets or washing facilities and 400m do not have access to electricity.

In Mumbai, about half of its 20m inhabitants live in slums. Jeremy Vine visited Dharavi, where the film Slumdog Millionaire was set, to see what life was like there.

You can listen to more of Jeremy Vine's programme from India on BBC iPlayer. Jeremy Vine is on BBC Radio 2 Mondays to Fridays at 12:00 GMT.
