World's most expensive handbag auctioned in Hong Kong

A diamond-encrusted Hermes handbag made of pale "Himalaya" crocodile skin has become the most expensive ever sold at auction.

An anonymous buyer bought the Birkin bag - made of crocodile bred to be so pale it supposedly evoked Himalayan mountains - for HK$2.32m ($299,000; £206,000) at Christie's auction house in Hong Kong.
