Ship carrying chemicals sinking off Japan coast

A tanker carrying 450 tonnes of a chemical used in cleaning products has foundered off the coast of Japan.

The ship began listing after leaving the port of Tokuyamakudamatsu, and investigations were under way to ascertain the safety of the its cargo, according to the local coast guard.
