Is Thailand's 'child angel' doll fad fading?

When a Thai airline began offering to sell seats for life-sized dolls last month, it brought attention to a strange obsession which appeared to have gripped hundreds of Thai adults.

They were treating these dolls as though they were real children, feeding them, buying them jewellery, taking them on holiday.

But the discovery of abandoned dolls at one temple suggests the fad may be fading as Jonathan Head reports from Bangkok.
