Exiled Chinese democracy leader on dealing with China

The pro-democracy student leader named as the second most wanted by China after its crackdown on Tiananmen Square protesters in 1989 has been living in exile in Taiwan for many years.

Wu'er Kaixi has been a political commentator and is now running for a seat in the island's parliament in this month's elections under the small party Constitutional Reform Fraternity Coalition.

Beijing considers the island a province separated by the civil war to be reunified one day.

Wu'er Kaixi says he wants to help Taiwan deal with China, at a time when it faces tough decisions on whether to grow closer to the mainland.
