Why the ruling PAP dominates in Singapore polls

The people of Singapore will head to the polls on Friday in what are the most hotly contested elections since the country's independence.

For the first time since independence in 1965 every single constituency is being contested.

The ruling party, the PAP, has been in power for five decades and looks set for another convincing win, despite losing some followers.
